2 private rooms available in small intentional community home!

I’m looking for 1-3 new housemates to join our small intentional community starting July 1.

About the Home:
– Cozy 3 bedroom house within walking distance of downtown Monrovia
– Large water-wise garden with grey waters systems and our own compost (shared with another small house at the back of the property)
– Shared living spaces that support both connection and quiet. This includes an outdoor shower, outdoor bathtub, and the nicest comport toilet. (Don’t worry, we also have an indoor bathroom with a shower).
– Conscious, grounded, respectful, fun-loving sober-minded household

Available Rooms:
– Small room with closet and private full bathroom ($1100) – unfurnished
– Larger room with large closet, suitable for an individual or a couple, shared bathroom with me/guests ($1100 single / $1500 total couple) – could be furnished or unfurnished

DEPOSIT $1100/pp

We would split all utilities equally (water, trash, electricity, gas, wifi).

Looking for 6-12 mo lease, but open to shorter for the right situation.

We’re not just sharing rent—we’re cultivating a way of living together intentionally. I’m looking for more sober-minded folks with a certain level of maturity, humor, and grace. The garden/food forest is a big part of community life and I’m looking for folks who are excited to bring their expertise, or to learn together, to nurture and cultivate this space together.

About Me:
I am inheriting this rental from my current housemates who are all moving out to pursue more larger-scale farming back east. I am a 40 something spiritual entrepreneur who works from home. I have a 5 yo cat who does best as the only animal. My partner lives in Escondido and he comes up 1-2 weekends/month, and I head down there 1-2 weekends/mo. He smokes tobacco away from the house when he visits. He’s a tech guy, musician, and good-natured geek who loves MtG and DnD.

I am sober and substance-free (not in recovery, just prefer living clean and clear). I am also mostly plant-based and sensitive to chemicals. I am a counselor and intuitive coach, and I facilitate ecstatic and sacred dance, love music, random dance parties, sharing meals, and getting to the beach as often as possible.

This property is unique. It’s an urban oasis near downtown Monrovia in a sweet little neighborhood. The property has 2 houses – the one I’m in with the 3 total bedrooms, and a smaller 2 bedroom house in the back occupied by a family with a teen and 6 yo. We share the garden space and also weave community together. There is also an outdoor open-air building that we share with them.
